thank goodness she was found, I would like to hear what her story is? I read she went missing off of Berry ln. hmmm and has there been any updates on the young lady that missing off the lost coast recently?
She went for a walk near her home. She got turned around and called for help. Not related to any missing persons.
I COULD HEAR HER CALLING FOR HELP. SO GLAD THEY FOUND HER!
THANK YOU CITIZENS AND RESCUE FOR ALL YOU DO.
GOD BLESS
Scary
So her phone was working the whole time? Thanks for answering kid!
Can you hear me now?
That’s how she was communicating with HCSO….
This is very weird & makes no sense at all
Kym,
Why did the Coast Guard return to the same area at 2 am? Rumor on FB is they found three more people. I live on Briarwood Circle and have been in those woods.
Great job to everyone involved!
Uninjured directionally challenged local female teenager with functional phone requires community search team to successfully exit neighborhood woods.
Is there something we as a society in Eureka can learn from this?
This article is funny, where it says “…They are using her phone because their’s isn’t working.” ha ha, that sentence could have clearly been left out. It seems like a jab at the girl for having a completely functional phone and still needing a helicopter/search crew. I’m glad it all worked out though, don’t get me wrong.
Don’t get me wrong?? Then why open your pie trap about the writing? Kym does the community a great service.
I learned that we have a lot of unselfish people in our community, both paid and volunteer, who are willing to go out even in bad weather at night to help a complete stranger in distress.
That’s what our Humboldt community is made of.
I know what you mean. This story made me smile thinking of folks willing to tromp through rain and cold to help a kid.
She is home safe. She was traveling off trail and was down in a deep brushy canyon. Two of us bushwhacked to her position and were able to follow the sound of her voice. It was extremely rough terrain. We got her to an open area within sight of the Briarwood circle. However, it would take more bush whacking down a ravine and back up the other side to get there. She was exhausted and hypothermic, so we called Coast Guard to get her (and us out).
Thank you for being there for her!
I’m just glad she’s ok.good news is sweet
