looks like this pooch just got a new home.
Please post this at humboldtpawscause.com if you haven’t yet, thank you to the kind soul taking care of her!
The county shelter is over capacity for dogs right now, if there is anyway to avoid bringing this lovely pooch there please consider it, it will literally save another dogs life.
If you or anyone you know are thinking about a new dog friend, please check out the Facebook pages for the humboldt county animal shelter and redwood pals rescue (one of the most amazing groups in our area) and petharbor.com, either put in 95519 as your zip or select humboldt county animal shelter.
There are some beautiful and sweet dogs ready for homes, and adoption fees are reduced right now until Thanksgiving, $35 for senior dogs (7 years and older) and $50 for all other ages. The dogs are fixed, up on vaccines and chipped, and many have been trained on a leash and on basic commands.
Think about a donation to the shelter, they get so much done with such little funding, they serve our entire county! The volunteer group there is off the charts amazing.
You can also donate on redwoodpalsrescue.org directly to a vaccine, emergency overnight boarding, etc. Many dogs are completely freaked out by the shelter and the county cannot afford a behavior specialist to work with these dogs. Redwood pals focus on helping those dogs who may be deemed unadoptable due to behavior. They help every dog that comes through there regardless and were even out with the EPD animal control officer at homeless camps helping get dogs vaccinated.
There are lots of ways to help, for instance a new trail was made for volunteers to walk dogs next to the shelter and it could use a few layers of wood chip or the like. Bring by some blankets or balls or treats to donate, or just a smile and a thank you 🙂
Thank you for saying this from the bottom of my heart bless your sole!!
