Havener

On 10-27-2016 at 2:15 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Garberville Station received a report of suspicious activity in the 800 block of Redwood Drive, Garberville. The reporting party stated that two people were inside a parked vehicle and appeared to be engaged in narcotics activity due to the amount of foot traffic coming and going from the vehicle.

Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Amie Havener (age 37), in the described vehicle. Havener denied any narcotics activity and claimed there wasn’t anyone coming and going from her vehicle. Deputies learned that Havener had a warrant for her arrest and took her into custody without incident. Deputies searched Havener incident to arrest and located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and counterfeit currency. Havener was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) and booked on these charges.

Asbury

On 10-28-2016 at 12:20 p.m., Garberville Station Deputies received another tip from a citizen who reported that Marcus Asbury (age 27) was seen near Redway Elementary School. Asbury has been previously listed on the Southern Humboldt’s Most Wanted Poster and has a felony warrant for his arrest. The arrest warrant is for unlawful sex with a minor. The reporting party stated that Asbury appeared to be engaged in narcotics activity and was walking in the 400 block of Briceland Road, Redway.

Upon arrival, Deputies located Asbury who immediately fled on foot. Deputies pursued Asbury and eventually took him to the ground. Asbury violently resisted Deputies’ attempts to take him into custody. After a brief struggle, Deputies were able to place Asbury under arrest. As a result of Asbury’s failed attempt to avoid arrest, he sustained minor injuries. Asbury was treated at a local hospital prior to being booked at the HCCF.

Fransway

Deputies also contacted Hannah Fransway (age 22) who was walking with Asbury upon Deputies’ initial contact. Fransway also had an outstanding warrant and was placed under arrest. The Sheriff’s Office credits citizen reporting of suspicious activity as a direct result in these arrests.

Park anywhere in Redway or Garberville and you can watch drug activity. What the hell happened to Southern Humboldt? Between the growers, trimigrants , transients and druggies I hardly recognize the place. Quite the invasion going on.

As a father of a daughter I applaud your courage to post this and to share your struggles with us all. Thank you. I hope this reaches and touches at least one young lady lost to drugs. Hopefully your daughter will understand how much you love and care for her and find her way back home very soon.

I think “darts” is a reference to hypodermic needles. Had to think about that one too.

She is home now with us and we are truly blessed to have her back. We will never give up on our child or any of our children. Still have one more lost in this hell of addiction, but I pray the lord will bring him home to us as well.
