Vehicle over the Edge North Of Willow Creek
About 5:00 pm tonight a passerby on Hwy 96 noticed skid marks going off Highway 96. The passerby then saw a vehicle “200 feet down the embankment,” according to scanner traffic.
Two patients are reported. One is on the road complaining of neck and back pain. The second is “nearby the vehicle below.”
Emergency personnel are reporting that they will have to do a “rope rescue for the second patient.”
The ambulance is on scene. CHP is doing traffic control in the area. Keep a lookout for emergency vehicles if you are on Hwy 96 north of Willow Creek.
Emergency crews have reached the second patient as of 5:45 pm.

Would be very helpful for all concerned if people would take note of the white paddle markers along a highway. Makes it much easier to identify a more specific location. Maybe there’s another name for them but you’ve seen them. What do you call them?
I believe those paddle marks are called mile markers.
“…seen a vehicle…”?? I know this is Humboldt County, but really?
Funny Forg! One of my pet peeves too.
So… no vehicle was seen?
“the passerby then seen a vehicle”
“one is on the up on the road”
Right.
I would rather be 200 feet over a bank than read “seen a vehicle.”
What kind of car and color. My son drove up that way?
Noticed that too!😂 I saw it, seen it….no matter, kym your awsome. Keep up the great reporting. Wow, wind’s picking up. Batten down the hatches!
I’m pretty sure that’s not Kym’s writing.
Kym is there any description of the vehicle? My nephew was driving to meet his friends out that way today and have yet to see him, I am very concerned this may be him!!!
Traci, I’m sorry. I wasn’t on. Bobby was the one who posted but he would have added a description if possible. I hope all is well with your family.
And “if you on Hwy 96” . I would say this was written in haste. The facts seem clear however, which is good.
