[UPDATE 9 a.m.] Large Law Enforcement Presence at House on Walnut Drive Outside of Eureka

scannerAn alert reader tells us a large number of law enforcement vehicles are at a home on the south side of Eureka. Approximately eight Humboldt County Sheriff’s vehicles and an ambulance are parked in the 5400 block of Walnut Drive.

According to scanner information, deputies forced entry to the home for a welfare check about 7:40 a.m. There is a “unknown medical problem,” according to dispatcher.

UPDATE 9 a.m.: According to Selena Zorrilla-Mendoza, a spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, “We responded after we received several dropped 911 calls. Upon arrival we attempted to get a response from the resident. After not getting a response, we forced entry into the home. There were no injuries.”
