At 8:29 this morning, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ongoing home invasion in Salyer at Fountain Ranch Road. The caller stated that three armed males had assaulted some of the residents there. Reportedly, the armed robbers wanted money as well as marijuana.

A man who did not want to be identified said he was in the home when three armed gunmen entered in the earlier morning hours. He said he was hit in the head with a gun three times.

According to a witness who did not want to be named, there were three men and two women in the home when it was invaded by three men all carrying guns.  The witness said that the armed males hit him several times with a gun. “Every time one of the women moved, they would take it out on me,” he said. Eventually, he escaped with one of the women and called 911 from the neighbor’s house.

The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, United States Forest Service, California Highway Patrol, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Redding Police Department, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene. The three alleged home invaders escaped the original home and went to a different piece of property on nearby Councilman Road.

Helicopters attempted to locate the suspects but were unable to do so because of “poor weather conditions,” according to the press release.

Meanwhile, large numbers of law enforcement surrounded the area and attempted to learn what happened.

In a press conference later at the scene, Trinity County Sheriff Bruce Haney believed they found the motive. “There’s a large marijuana garden in the back [of the original residence,]” Sheriff Haney said. “That’s the motive right there.”

Law enforcement determined that “no property was taken from the residence,” according to a press release issued by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.

Eventually three males were discovered at another piece of property on Councilman Road, detained, and lined up along the roadside.

The repose was overwhelming. That many agencies from such a wide area…. why? There’s definitely more to this story…

If you mean the reference to the large area, Redding is 100 miles from Salyer.

Wait, after pondering the description and suspect demographics doesn’t this sound very similar to the robbery and falsely reported shooting on Spy Rock Road in Laytonville on 9/29?

Interesting to note that the brown copter was seen flying over Hoopa in the afternoon today.

Is it a private contractor or a LEO copter?

What's the deal w/ the copter?

The funny thing is that’s the same helicopter that was supposed to be PG&E. that copter was the same one flying low over northern humboldt a couple of weeks ago. Hhhmmmmm.

Law enforcement was on top on their game on this one. Hopefully they will track the others down and bring them to justice…

However, law enforcements barber shop. seriously, either that cop has a wrinkly head or someone played a real messed up joke on him. unless he meant to have a T buzzed on the back of that head of his.

I apologize but, i had to.

Three men detained yet seven were arrested. It sound like the three men lived at the Councilman Road residence and four women who also lived there were arrested. This looks like a neighbor (from Councilman Road) was trying to rip off another neighbor on Fountain Ranch Road. Why were they not concerned about being recognized? I am assuming the weed in the back yard is still there… no word on that.

They usually will not detain the reporting parties. Another good example of this was the guy who got beat up by the drunk mom over an issue between their daughters. The guy was actually on a most wanted poster. But because he had called the cops, they wouldn’t detain him. They don’t want to discourage anyone from calling the cops, so grows aren’t usually destroyed nor people arrested if they belong to/are victims. At least, that is my understanding.

Home Invasion robbery if committed when the robbers know your home and want you there should have legal penalties like kidnapping.

Of course it’s “that time of year” when all these home invasions occur, but i doubt it had much to do with weed. It was most likely heroin they were after. I don’t understand why the po po didn’t search the residence as he is a known dealer in the area and hardly an innocent victim. smh…

Thank you! You are right it had nothing to do with pit and everything to do with heroin. The cops stated that there were needles everywhere and still they didn’t search his house. I can’t believe he keeps getting away with this crap. I thought forsure with all the restores on scene that he would finally be busted, but I guess not. Too bad because this kind of stuff will continue to happen until law enforcement finally does something about it.

Of course it’s that time of year, but the heroin problem is year round….. That’s the real problem here… & it’s nation wide opiate & heroin user’s will steal anything….. this originated at a heroin house, one of 80 grow houses in immediate neighborhood…. WHY this house?? some of these “suspects” had involvement prior in some way or another to this home invasion residence.

Wow. Things sure change for worst. I lived in Myers Flat area from ’85 – ’94ish. My 3 boys were born in Garberville. I love this site Kym as well as others from humboldt. the things people comment on are kinda strange. The comment about the shaved – braided hair guy was the man whose home was invaded. someone else made a comment entirely different. anywho.

Isn’t it weird that if a white person said what you did, they’d be labeled a racist, and yet you find it perfectly acceptable to be racist toward whites? Racist is racist. First person pull the race card is the real racist, in my book. If you want to eliminate racism, you have to start with yourself, dude.
