PG&E Will Be Flying Over Parts of Humboldt Checking Lines Wednesday

Press release from PG&E:

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will conduct routine aerial patrols this week to inspect gas transmission lines for potential threats & future maintenance in rural and remote areas of Humboldt County.

PG&E will patrol by air from about 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, weather permitting. The aircraft will start in Red Bluff and patrol the areas over Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna, Lolita, and Dinsmore.

A plane will fly at approximately 5000 feet, depending on the area and if livestock are present. PG&E patrols remote gas lines, which are often located in rural areas, by airplane as part of its continuing effort to ensure safety and reliability of its gas system. If issues are identified, it’s possible the plane may need to fly at a lower altitude for additional inspections.

This is part of routine patrolling that occurs twice a month.

PG&E owns the aircraft to fly the PG&E inspectors.

Does PGE retain a list of every day over all these years of where it flies a helo chopper to inspect lines?

If so, they would schedule ahead prior to the news story “write up”….or, are they concerned logistically that a sam may be launched after dubious conspiratorial terror planning plotted the event soon to be?

Would that not be a huge news story…..chopper copter blown outta the sky….and it was not even pot related.
