Pursuit Leads to Best Sheriff Mugshot Ever
Seriously, what happened to the normal green tinge to the mugshot?
This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On 10-12-2016 at 3:40 p.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant was patrolling in the 3100 block of Redwood Drive, Redway. The Sergeant observed a black Harley Davidson motorcycle being driven by Jesse Lee Surbrugg (age 37). The Sergeant knew that Surbrugg has a felony warrant for weapons violations.
The Sergeant attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on Surbrugg at the intersection of Redwood Drive and Redway Drive. Surbrugg failed to yield and vehicle pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued through residential streets, and due to public safety concerns, and Surbrugg’s erratic driving, the pursuit was terminated.
A short time later, Sheriff’s Deputies located Surbrugg who was now in the Evergreen Business Park. Surbrugg hid his motorcycle and then ran into a storage locker located in the 1200 block of Evergreen Road, Garberville. Deputies gave chase and were able to successfully take Surbrugg into custody without further incident.
Surbrugg was subsequently transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for booking. Surbrugg was booked on his felony warrant, and fresh charges of felony evasion and driving on a suspended license.
Anyone with information for the Sheriff’s Office regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at 707-268-2539.

Almost as clear as an tinted Daguerreotype [ sp?]
That’s as nice and pristine as a school photo. Background is even the same as school pictures.
They must have borrowed the mugshot from somewhere else. That is not an HSO mugshot.
It is now. I’ve been told their officers were just trained to use a new camera today!
You mean “their” officers?
NO, the officers that were there. Officers who were elsewhere weren’t trained.
Fixed.
It’s about time they learned how to use a camera. I often wondered what good that it did to take a totally unrecognizable picture. “Z” money must have finally done done some good in the sheriff’s dept.
Trained… smh!
He ran into a storage locker? That must have hurt.
How about, “he ran from the police and entered a storage locker to avoid apprehension” Dang, hindsight is wonderful!
So, when did we become Ernest Frickin Hemingway? I’ve always said that “if you knew what someone should have said, you knew what they said, and needs no correction” More than once I’ve seen a correction screw up a good story. ;+)
In this world today with the cell phones and computers , we have had to learn to read typo-text and type it. The one problem I have ran into is when actually writing with pen and paper is that at times I find myself writing u=you, btw=by the way , LOL=laughing out loud and ETC. And I wondered why I never heard back about the job I was applying for. If I made one person smile then maybe in turn they can make someone smile and so on and on. Give away a smile they are free and make you feel better!!!!!
Better invest in a full face helmet.
Gonna miss the the sick green. It went so well with the blotchy half-dead tweeker look.
The photo is decent because he wasn’t high on heavy drugs. This was a weapons violation not drugs.
No, the Sheriff’s Office got a new camera. Look at the greenish tinge in the old mugshots.
Maybe someone figured out that the green piece of plastic over the lease should be removed?
It really looks that way to me.
Slow down and live a little deep breathing helps too maybe they need a Evergreen Harley yoga center. Good call on the back off someone could have been ran over .
I don’t know about this guy but I have been down with the Blue Angels ever since I was born and they always go the mach speed limit breaking the sound barrier thing seems a little squrilly to me.
Makes you wonder how old the other camera was, most likely was a Polaroid Instamatic from 1970’s. Amazing difference in the quality. Wonder if they are going to do a side business of taking family photos for a small fee, just yanking yer chain. Finally the taxpayers money is spent on something we can see, lol……….Have A Great Day!!!
