Non violent charges. Thank you Dumboldt County voters. She’ll be out in no time behind Prop 47 which you overwhelmingly voted for.

Watch out for the misandrysts claiming misogyny cuz a woman is at the center of controversy…ah, Prince’s “Controversy” sounds a good beat..

On another note here,

“should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:”

Gotta like the red font to highlite such a statement that has become scrutinized in local blogs in the past month because enough headlines evoked guilt before any process ensues…..

Wonder why she was even listed as?? Just take a walk on Wabash, or California Street and I’m sure you could find someone much more worthy of most wanted, or at least the dealer who got this young girl on dope in the first place. Brave cops arresting the homeless… Oh yeah, you’re the man!

So if you are homeless you should have a life time get out of jail free card? The dealer only supplied this young girl the drugs, she chose to buy them, she chose to use them. It is called responsibility for your actions, she chose to do drugs, she chose to do the crime, now it’s time to do the time. And as far as the “brave cops being the man”, they are doing the job we asked and pay them to. As far as brave, volunteer to walk through some of the trash and human feces around those encampments with them and then figure out if they are brave or just plain stupid.

Rally, You missed the whole point, but I’m sure that was deliberate too. It’s not about her. It’s about someone with such petty crimes being on the most wanted list. Maybe when you are dealt a home invasion robbery of your own Rally, or you get robbed at gun/knife point it may actually matter to you. Responsibility?? What about the responsibility of cops for go after the real dangerous criminals? Who’s responsible for this lame duck being on that list??? Maybe you have a nice gated house up on the hill and it doesn’t matter to you Rally, but for the rest of us it does.

I was homeless at one time, not all are bad people and most just want to be left alone.

However Rally, if you’re scared of what you’re calling walking through trash, then you need to take that badge off and get the subway job you deserve.

I didn’t miss your point…she was on the list because she was wanted for not completing the deal she accepted in court, one she agreed to. It sounded like a good excuse, but instead of clearing the matter up when she got out she returned back to old ways. And by the way Child endangerment is a serious crime. Responsibility? Yes … responsibility. She is responsible for being on that list. If you want me to defend the cops, I have no reason to defend them. They are doing a job just like the grocery clerk, mechanic, or garbage man. There are lots of things that you disagree about the job, but you were hired to do a job so you do it. The cops aren’t here just for dangerious criminals, they are responsible for enforcing all the rules set forth by society. It does not matter if I live in a nice house behind a gate, or a tent in the woods. If I pay taxes, I want my money’s worth. I don’t want to see the cops sitting eating donuts waiting for a “serious crime” while ignoring other crimes being committed. Responsibility is accepting the consequences of your actions. The point you claim I missed was “Brave cops arresting the homeless”, the point you missed was that she was arrested for warrants, not because she was homeless….and I know homeless people also. They are not bad (never said they were) and they don’t get arrested. She was arrested because of her actions, not because she was homeless. I don’t know why you got miffed by my post, I was just answering you inquiry as to why she was on the list.

24 isn’t exactly young. She’s responsible for herself. Why is it that some women want equal rights and to be treated the same, but then want a pass and want to be treated as a victim when it benefits them?

Coletta needs to read how “a girl” is a woman, full grown too.

I bet the 18 month old infant didn’t think her crimes were petty. Why is it the bad guy always gets the benefit of the doubt? Attitudes like Colleta’s is exactly what is wrong with America. This same liberal mindset suggests that drug addicts should be given more government handouts. Ya, that makes perfect sense…

I don’t see where the crimes she was “most wanted” for are listed. So it’s wrong to say whether it was right or wrong to have her on the list without knowing what the crimes, in fact, were. Someone here listed child endangerment. I don’t know if that’s correct. But before defending or exonerating her, get the facts. Certainly, it’s a sad thing to see young people so down and out.

That said, I’m glad the cops are patrolling the camps. The campers/travelers/hobos/ne’er do-wells, etc. are certainly patrolling our streets. Why should they be afforded the privacy that they don’t afford the locals? You hang out in front of our stores and homes–we hang out in front of your tents. Jus’ saying.

RILLY? Grocery clerk, mechanic, garbage person? Those people put their lives on the line every day for us?Yes were all heros somedays for even showing up, I guess if you count driving to work on the back freeways of SOHUM. Being a police man/ women is a hole other job. Some of the CHP that arrives here from L.A. are really spooked, too many TV hours? and very over zealous, wont get out of the petrol car to get a dead deer off the freeway, but we have all seen them do heroic work in serious car wrecks. And just stopping anyone these days must be a huge addictive adreniline/endorphine rush. Most of the local Humboldt Co. polices appear to have seen some action and act with cool heads in small groups or on their own[ sheesh that’s a loaded sentence]. This gil/ mother/ daughter needs some interventoin from jesus or somthing good to come her way. Maybe just start by just sayin NO instead of MO to crank, and H or whatever is doing that to her face/ family and life.

Whoa, what a poster girl for methamphetamine use! Hope you get your life together here in the county with no rehab. Try St Helena Hospital-In the winter they take some indigents in their drug treatment program.
All you other miscellaneous crazies: go get high and dream about chaos and anarchy. Careful what you wish for!

Thanks to the SoHum Sherrif deputies for clearing out the camps!

My thoughts exactly. You can tell she would be a nice looking woman with out all the spots on her face. She still has time to get it together, but time is running out. Jail is actually the best place for her right now. Hopefully she’ll choose a new direction in life, but I wouldn’t put any money down on it. The odds are against her, but people have come back from a lot worse.

Yes.. I agree the camps are gross and unclean. Many people have lost their way and are clinging to their fleeting dignity. How? Why? Do people get to this point… Many different ways. Most have not been able to find a meaningful connection with anyone and simply check out of life and don’t care anymore.
The saddest part about this story is that this women is probably too poor to defend herself properly.. She maybe took the appeal that her public defender came up with and is now stuck in the system. Maybe if she could have afforded a lawyer she would be able to enjoy her freedom like that other mother who ran her daughter over and drove off and then pretended to be a good mom at the hospital while her daughter and another teenager died!
I am not sure what type of child endangerment charge she is stuck with bug it could be something lame like having your kid in the car while driving with a suspended liscense. Stupid shit like this happens to poor people everyday in our country! A fancy lawyer makes a big difference.
$ buys you happiness and freedom!

She could make 50k per year, and still not enough for an attorney….who will lie to her anyway in order to take money and not go to court…….

The injustice system is just that, injust…….nope, not even taxpayer paid for court appointed attorneys give a full shit, they won’t defend a client to the ends of the universe…..nope, pull ’em in, spit ’em out!

Its because coleta was homeless herself she fills a personal connection. So what that piece of work that left that baby with a withdrawing meth addicted person probably became homeless only after going on the run from the law. She deserves her punishment just like everyone else. Boo hoo she’s homeless. Not anymore she’s staying at the hilton. Coleta comments on every situation that envolves poor homeless ppl. Its there decisions that put them there. They perfer a hand out and drug filled days. Then a productive life filled with hard work and dedication to anything other than the needle in thier arms. Its all about choices. Most ppl don’t choose to be homeless simply to be left alone. That’s ridiculous
