Let’s hope thay get it nocked out quickly prayers for the people in the area
The fire is completely contained CDF is mopping up.
Thank you to all of the awesome neighbors and Fire fighters for saving our land! I am grateful.
Was this a fire started in abandoned vehicle??
No, a vehicle appears to have gone into a ditch. Somehow a grass fire started from that which caught the vehicle on fire.
The catalytic converter, which is part of the exhaust system under the car, is typically hot enough to start dry vegetation under the car on fire. It’s the likely source of ignition for fire in this incident. http://m.ocregister.com/articles/fire-227738-catalytic-converter.html
Excellent photos Kym!
Looks like one ghetto cruizer,..
Always carry a fire extinguisher and if you drive a pick up always have a McLeod in the back.
Wet burlap is my personal favorite if only because it seems more efficient on small flame advances. That and my boots,…up to the point that they start melting.
good work all involved in getting it put out yea!!!
