Rio Dell Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Accident

Last night around 10:18 p.m., a Rio Dell police officer was involved in a vehicle pursuit that started near Wildwood Ave and Highway 101.  Per scanner traffic, the pursuit reached speeds of well over 100 mph.

The pursuit ultimately ended when the suspect vehicle crashed, just east of Hwy 101 on Hwy 36, approximately 50 feet down an embankment. The vehicle occupants were uninjured and Rio Dell PD detained two subjects before ultimately transporting one to jail for a variety of charges.

No names are known at this time.  An anonymous reader provided the following picture of the accident scene:

Trying to outrun the police seldom ends well.
