[UPDATE 10 a.m.] Fire Burning Nine Miles East of Ruth
Gary Carpenter, Post Mountain Fire Department administrator, tells us that a fire broke out tonight about nine miles east of Ruth Lake. As of 8:30 p.m., this one acre fire is burning at a moderate rate five miles south of Hwy 36 near Bierce Ridge. Two to three foot flames are spreading in grass and brush under timber.
Post Mountain Fire, Hayfork Fire and the US Forest Service have been dispatched.
No structures are currently threatened.
UPDATE 10 a.m.: Gary Carpenter tells us, “They had a line around it by midnight and started to release engines, our engine got back about 0300.”
