I was recently involved, as a civilian volunteer, on a rescue operation in the siskyou wilderness in del Norte county. The people involved do tremendous work but seem to be under funded for modern equipment and under staffed for the amount of work a wilderness rescue requires. People should consider volunteering or donating to their local search and rescue, it may be you or a loved one that needs them next time.

its always the old guy on the coast who wanders off. i sincerely hope they are held financially accountable.

If a kid disappears hiking they owe for search and rescue. senility or dementia should not let these guys off the hook.

He was 61. it’s more likely he got dehydrated. What are we paying taxes for. Why are they underfunded? I know crazy question, but it seems ridiculous.
