Too Tall Load Crashes Into Perkins Street Overcrossing Near Ukiah
Around 3 p.m., a southbound tractor trailer carrying a large excavator on Hwy 101 struck the Perkins Street overpass near Ukiah. Luckily, it did not get stuck. However, the outside (#2) lane is closed during repairs.
Caltrans suggests drivers “anticipate minor traffic slowdowns and exercise caution as you travel through the area.”
In addition, they stated later, “Perkins Street will be closed in both directions at the overpass for the night. Motorists should consider using Gobbi Street as an alternative.”As of 5:13 p.m. there are reports of traffic backed up on the California Highway Patrol page.

Pretty sure your supposed to check your load and bridge heights before hauling a giant excavator chp is gona have a field day with this
What a no- brainer for having a commercial license. Driver should have his class A revoked !!!
You two have no idea what your talking about
You are NOT supposed to check your load and height limits when driving a truck? ‘Splain’ that one to me, Lucy.
I don’t think your gonna convince anyone that this was smart, maybe try the old “Caltrans raised the roadway” defense. Or a trimmagrant Bulgarian caused it.
The vehicle owner will be paying big bucks for the bridge repair!
