According to fire personnel able to see the flames, there is a fire burning in southeastern Humboldt on the Stewart Ranch near the intersection of Peak Road and Kekawaka Station Road.

The fire has burned “a couple acres.” It is spreading slowly in grassy areas under oak trees, according to traffic on the scanner.

We’ll update as soon as we get more details.

  • Best place to burners hope it does not crown

  • And lots of our CalFire trucks are all headed to Susanville area.

  • I was driving on peak road around 4 pm, you could smoke that looked like a few acres at most. Within 5 minutes we started to see cal fire trucks heading up the mountain, Must have passed at least ten trucks on the way into garberville. Awesome response by cal fire! Thanks to the firefighters! Hopefully they were able to contain this one quick!
