7th Annual Garden Gala at Humboldt Botanical Garden

Garden party

It’s known as the biggest and best Garden Party and Barbeque on the North Coast! Mark your calendar right now because you do not want to miss out on the fabulous 7th Annual Garden Gala at Humboldt Botanical Garden on Saturday, September 10 from 1-5 p.m. It’s the best place in town to have a lovely afternoon of fun music, excellent local art, food, wine, and Lost Coast Brewery Beer, along with silent and live auctions. All this, plus beautiful views and comfortable benches, chairs, and tables to sit, relax, and enjoy it all.
Local Humboldt vendors are offering tasty plates and tidbits, including BBQ tri-tip by auctioneer Rex Bohn, he is doing both the tri-tip and the live auction.  The tidbits from Wild Oaks BBQ, pizza from Marcelli’s, specialties from Angelo’s Pizza, pasta from Bella Italia Restaurant, savories from Avalon Parties and Bear River Casino, plus Mexican delights from Chapala. Stop by the Fun Food Tent for corn on the cob and side condiments, and a cupcake station.  Lost Coast Brewery will once again provide award-winning beers and delicious root beer floats.
We are blessed with many gifted artists in Humboldt County, and at this year’s Gala we welcome award-winning oil painter Kathy O’Leary and other local plein air painters Matt Beard, Paul Ricard, Alan Sanborn, Jody Bryan, Toni Magyar,  Bjorn Lundeen, Alicia Tredway, Steve Lempke, Linda Mitchell and  Michelle Murphy-Ferguson to the Garden.
To enhance this wonderful Gala experience, the Humboldt Botanical Garden is pleased to welcome back by popular demand, Vintage Soul – the energetic, soulful, funky, rhythm & blues group. We are also pleased that harpist, Lonnie Magellan will be serenading guests while they sip champagne and enjoy the beauty of the Moss Family Temperate garden.

Real gardening events that don’t promote dope are great.

Weed growers should attend and learn real gardening so you can compete for landscaping jobs with your Central American labor you’ve used to grow your dope, when it’s corpratized and you’ve got a giant balloon payment or inflated property tax bill due.

I wonder how many growers will stick with agriculture after the industry is completely stolen?

Real gardening? What a sad person you are. Anyone who can set up a commercial weed garden can also grow food or flowers. There is no magical, mysterious alternate dimension for weed growers. You simply adjust water and nutrients for whatever crop. You know nothing about gardening, legal or otherwise.

I Agree that the event is wonderful and a good example of diversity in our community and worthy of support.

Weed growing a monocrop isn’t gardening, nor is adjusting nutrients.
Companion planting is the key, nutrients is for home depot and weed growers, silly.

It would be nice to grow whatever you find love in and not worry about money.
Just like when growing up it would have been nice to have gone into a study that inspired you rather than one you thought would pay the bills.
