[UPDATE 5:40 p.m.] Fire Burning on Pewetole Island in College Cove
A fire is sending up a white column of smoke from Pewetole Island in College Cove as of 4 p.m. Scanner traffic indicates the fire is burning in heavy timber but spreading slowly. The fire doesn’t threaten any structures as there are none on the island.
UPDATE 5:40 p.m.: Fire extinguished.

Just drove down as Cal-Fire was leaving. All is well. Some timber on the island ‘spontaneously combusted in a mysterious manner’.

When I lived in trinidad I used to frequent the island at low tide. Sometimes even swimming back if I stayed to long. And yes there is a blow hole
