Vegetation Fire South of the Slough Bridge

Humboldt Bay FireA small amount of vegetation is on fire just south of the Slough Bridge on Hwy 101 to the north of Eureka. Fire crews were dispatched at 6:25 p.m.

“We have an approximately 10 x 10 spot in the median,” reports the first personnel on scene.

UPDATE 6:32 p.m.: The fire is extinguished but traffic is being impacted. Try to avoid the area if possible.

Most likely caused by some Nicotine Addict AKA Cigarette smoker tossing a burning butt out of his car window as they were driving along!!! If you must smoke plaese don’t inflict it on others use the ash tray & don’t smoke around non smokers!!! No one wants your second hand smoke!!!
