Get Your Kids Vaccinated, Says Department of Health and Human Services

humboldt county department of health and human servicesPress release from County of Humboldt:

School will be back in session soon, and it’s time for parents to gather school supplies and backpacks as well as make sure kids are up-to-date on their vaccines.

A new state mandate requires that all children entering transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and seventh grade be vaccinated, or in the process of being vaccinated, against measles, mumps, whooping cough and other diseases. Children in child care settings must also be immunized. In the rare instance when a child has a compromised immune system, that child’s physician can provide a medical exemption.

“Getting children all of their vaccines is one of the most important things parents can do to help protect their children’s health,” said Susan Buckley, director of Public Health for the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services. “It also helps protect their classmates and the community.”

When children are not vaccinated, they are at increased risk of disease and can spread diseases to others in their classrooms and community—including babies who are too young to be fully vaccinated, and people with weakened immune systems due to cancer and other health conditions.

Today’s childhood vaccines protect against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases, like measles and polio. “Thanks to vaccines, most of these diseases are rare in the United States,” Buckley said. “But many still exist here and abroad, and can make children very sick, leading to missed school, missed work for parents and even hospitalization.”

Vaccines are available from clinics and other local health care providers. For more information about immunizations, contact the Public Health Clinic at 707-268-2108. Parents can find out more about the recommended immunization schedule at shotsforschool.org.

Vaccines and antibiotics have saved countless lives. Vaccines allowed us to eradicate small pox and have polio on the run. Sadly, not having to worry about our kids dying of whooping cough or meningitis, being paralysed or blinded by this or that epidemic has freed up our time and energy to worry if our vaccines are secretly hurting us. SPOILER ALERT: the car ride to the doc’s office is 1000 times riskier than the shots.

Hmmmm, the man who invented the polio vaccine claimed it worked so well, it was given to his grandchildren.

One died the other took years to recover.

Forcing medication on people is a crime, mandatory vaccination is just that.

In three years you will lose your driver license if you’re not up to date on their mandatory vaccination program.

If these vaccines work so well, what possibly could a vaccinated person have to fear from an unvaccinated person?

VAXXED goes into the cover up, money spent to lobby groups that have made it mandatory to poison your child in California to attend schools you’re forced to pay for.

Check the movie out and ignore these county health workers, I’ve yet to see a single healthy looking one in their office. I’m certainly not taking diet advice from fat people.

Honeydew Bridge Chump – not all county workers have the same beliefs that the administration does that is putting out this message.

Labeling the group as fat and assuming they all agree with this PSA tells me you may not know many people that work at Humboldt County DHHS Public Health Branch.

And your comment below stating “nobody in there is an example of health” is just dead wrong if you’re referring to Public Health employees. You should try meeting a few of them. Are you sure it’s Public Health employees you’re referring to?

Another reason to accept responsibility for your children’s lives and home-school them with your neighbors.
Our home-birth families did eventually vaccinate, but with a big difference: we were in close communication with our pediatricians and together we made a plan to delay the shots according to our children’s dispositions and the likelihood of their exposure, and over a longer period of time than “recognized” as effective.
The “Whooping Cough” vaccines were especially delayed, as they were easily identified as the most likely to cause severe reactions. Later, the kids who chose to attend public school were up-dated without any problems.
As teenagers, the kids were grown enough to withstand the blow-back of headache and heat-flashes, and us moms were prepared to deal with them. The kids are now grown adults having their own kids, and the knowledge moves on… Everyone is doing just fine. af

They are currently asking you to give some 80 shots to kids. 3 rounds of this or that. Now the state is even saying that 12 year Olds have the knowledge to accept HPV shots without a guardians consent. The state feels that they are better than parents at parenting. Dumping the amount of shots they are asking for these days on young developing brains and immune systems is a crime. Make a choice. Herd immunity is bull. What are all you vaccinated ones worried about anyway. Afraid the shot you took won’t work if we unvaccinated people get around you. Maybe bubble suits for all the vaccinated ones, it’s much safer that way anyway. Or better yet maybe the vaccinated ones should just stay in their own homes where they have control over their own environment. Seeing how the unvaccinated world around them is such a threat. Only livestock and domestic animals get shots along with us. A few million years of evolution aparently is wrong and much to erratic. We should try and change as much as we can to save ourselves and keep it the way we want it. Ya know, for humans and the world. Be free, make a choice, and don’t be afraid not to follow the herd if you don’t agree with them.

So…. the first experimental polio vaccine was dangerous (if that anecdote is true) so… all vaccines are dangerous? Should we not drive cars because of the safety record of the Model A?

What’s to fear? Not so much for me and other healthy adults. But, vaccines aren’t 100% effective for all people. And the diseases they prevent are deadly to the very young and the very old. But if a huge percent of the population is vaxxed, it makes the chances of a vulnerable person coming into contact with a infectious person effectively zero. 100% protection through herd immunity.

I get that being part of a ‘herd’ goes against the grain for us independent types. There’s certainly no ego boost from doing what everyone else is doing. Government health agencies can’t be described with words like enlightened, cool, holistic, edgy, or organic. But even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Just because Big Science and Big Pharma like vaccines, doesn’t mean that vaccines aren’t a huge saver of lives and human possibility. Polio is still killing and maiming children with just as much efficiency as it ever did in parts of the world where people can’t or won’t vaccinate, along with all its friends like meningitis and whooping cough. They haven’t gone away. This epidemic-free Eden we get to live in is created by those un-hip government agencies and those nasty, mass-produced vaccines they distribute.

Bill Gates is being sued in India for slaughtering 60,000 people with the polio vaccine.

It’s a eugenics program.

If it was a good thing, it wouldn’t be forced on you.

Can’t think of anything good that government has forced on people.

Watch the movie it lays it all out.

If you work in the health department and that’s why you’re posting, lose some weight, stay off the diet coke, and try getting some exercise. People wouldn’t be inclined to think your office is full of sheet if there weren’t so many lard tubs in there. Can’t control your weight, yet have knowledge to advocate vaccines?

Get real, get healthy before speaking about the health of others. Nobody in there is an example of health.

With government the name always has the opposite meaning.

Laws were passed some years back that prevents the public from suing drug companies for damages from vaccines.

http://blogs.findlaw.com/decided/2011/02/cant-sue-drug-companies-for-vaccine-defects-rules-supreme-court.html

If they’re so safe, why is that???

Let the kids grow up and decide. How many shots are required by the age of 2? Invasive and traumatic.

And now required by law or else?

Tyranny much?

The CDC admits that over 122 die each year from vaccinations related side effects and thousands mor have severe adverse reactions that land them in the hospital, In contrast just 32 babies over a nine-year period were killed by drop-side cribs that’s less then 4 a year yet drop side cribs have been completely banned. On average less than 300 people are killed each year with rifles, of which a very small percentage are actually killed by assault rifles, yet there is a frenzy to a band all assault rifles. So in conclusion more people are killed by vaccines each year than assault rifles. maybe we should have common sense vaccine legislation crammed down our throats.

If you don’t want to vax your kids, then stay home, home school, grow your own food and fuel, have no contact with any humans, ever. Then, when they are grown, they can marry each other! A closed loop. Keep the risk the hell away from the rest of us.

Yet I’m sure you’re okay with tens of thousands of people coming across our borders, many of which are carrying diseases to this country that were once eradicated.

The logical comparison is not how many people have died as the result of vaccines versus assualt rifles. The relevant question is how many died of mumps, measles rubella and diphtheria before there were widespread vaccination compared to today.
