One Lane of Hwy 101 Closed Following Accident Near Loleta Drive

scanner iconAt approximately 5:50 a.m., a CalFire engine struck a Dodge Challenger which already had hit the center divide on northbound 101 near Loleta Drive after the driver fell asleep. No one was badly injured.

Reportedly, the fire truck coming up on the accident scene couldn’t see it in fog and ran into the Dodge, spinning the vehicle several times. Flying debris hit the vehicle driver who had exited his wrecked car.

Hwy 101 was closed for approximately 20 minutes. Now the number one lane (closest to the center) northbound lane continues to be closed as of 7:26 a.m.
