Denyse Ivey Bandettini: ‘The Beauty of her Spirit and the Strength of her Being’

This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you.

On July 28, 2016 Denyse, peacefully and with quiet dignity, passed away at her home in Reno.
Born on July 5, 1963, Denyse spent her impressionable years in Southern Humboldt, graduating South Fork High school in 1981.

Denise’s love of the redwoods was surpassed only by her love of music. She was a vocalist in a local band, Recent Future, performing at various locations in Eureka, and competed in the Country Showdown in Fortuna, CA. Her continued support of the Showdown provided many opportunities for young aspiring musical artist throughout the county.

Neil and Denyse spent their early years living in Calistoga, CA enjoying life long friends where upon they eventually relocated to Reno Nevada in 2004. Denyse worked for both the state of Nevada and Washoe county school district as a Human Resources Job analyst.

The beauty of her spirit and the strength of her being was both inspiring to behold and humbling to witness. She will be missed as a wife, a sister, an aunt, a great aunt, a cousin and a beautiful friend.

Graveside services will be held at Ocean Cemetery in Eureka, CA on August 10, 2016 at 11:00a.m.

Denyse is a friend, who will be Remembered by many, especially me when ever the song by Eddie Rabbit would come on the radio, she loved to sing it,,being a family friend since the early 74’s when her mom brought her and 5 other siblings to Humboldt County, after I returned from the Service 1980, I would transport her to here and there and we would sing, “I LOVE A RAINY NIGHT”, to this day,,,Eddie Rabbit & Denyse Ivey Ring in my ear, when ever it’s on the radio… Living on in our Hearts 💙
