[UPDATE: Dog Located] Puppy Lost, Vehicle Flipped, Occupants Reported Bleeding in Shelter Cove

scanner iconA flurry of emergency vehicles are headed from the Garberville Redway area to Shelter Cove as of 5:40 p.m. A vehicle is reportedly flipped over near the intersection of Shelter Cove Road and Beach Road. The person reporting told dispatch that the occupant was bleeding.

UPDATE 7:20 p.m.: According to Cheryl Antony, spokesperson for Shelter Cove Fire which was on the scene along with the California Highway Patrol, “The van hit a tree after its brakes failed…Two patients were sent to the hospital.   Several more had minor injuries.”

Antony urges local residents to keep a lookout for a young dog that ran away from the vehicle accident. She said, “There is a missing sheltie puppy that was in one of the vehicles.   It is 4 months old and if you find it, please call Morris at  678-414-2234.

UPDATE August 8: We’ve learned that the puppy was located and returned to owner.
