Three of Four Victims Named in Fatal Airplane Crash

Images of the wrecked plane provided by a reader.

Yesterday, REACH Air Medical Services and Cal-Ore Life Flight named their three employees who died in a tragic plane crash early Friday morning. The medical flight carrying a patient from Crescent City to Oakland crashed after the pilot reported seeing smoke in the cockpit of the twin-engine plane. He declared an emergency and attempted to return to Crescent City but instead crashed near Crannell.

REACH has declined to name the patient for privacy issues but states that the pilot was Larry Mills, the Flight Nurse was Deborah Kroon, and Flight Paramedic was Michelle Tarwater. We do know the patient was a woman from the Klamath area.

If it’s foggy in arcata the closest airport to land at night would probably be cc if they just took off from there my guess would be it was clear there still, not a lot of options at night even when it’s clear

So sad on top of other sad things this year. It makes one wonder why anyone should have to, or will be able to go thru things like this.
There will a lot of huge scars before it is over. Love to their families, wish I could do more.
