Way to go boy in blue n green those are good numbers keep the sf eel river clean no wonder there’s so much blue green algae in the river so soon .
The strange thing about these algae’s is there turning up everywhere. I think the warming climate might be partly responsible.
Check out what’s happening in Florida! It’s everywhere, but helped along by excessive nutrients in the water… like cow poop. But we’re focusing on social conflicts here, not science. af
I am sure you have seen what Clear Lake has looked like from the little bit of farming around the watershed there. Pear orchards ( in the past ) mostly I think. They have been working on mitigating the problem thou.
I have lived in the area for over 40 years and there was blue/green algae in the river back in the early ’70s. It has always started to develop in July and by August it gets very bad in places. I live right on the river and it is no worse now than it has ever been…obviously, the wetter the winter the greater the flow in the river and you get less algae. But with low flows like we are still seeing from the drought, there will be lots of it.
How unpopular do you have to be to have a 49 plant garden taken these days?
Not much. A different color, church, or political stance will do it. af
Sad but OH SO True!!!!! 8~C
That’s just what I was thinking.
My thoughts exactly. Every garden they pulled under 500 plants is a joke. They need to be going after the big boys, with over 1000’s……. Mendo is a crappy joke……
Mendo has a strict 25 plant limit, unless you were lucky enough to get a permit to grow 99 plants thru the sheriff. Tom Allman will send his guys out to cut down anything over 25 without a permit, and even if you have 25 plants that is not next to your house they call it a open field search and cut them down, it is way different in mendo compared to humboldt, most people are struggling to survive, he brings in the national Guard like it is the 80’s to scare everyone
Give it a couple years and you’ll be able to grow 49000 garden and not have to worry about it being taken
Not in mendocino county, the raids will continue, the few people who jump thru numerous hoops might be able to grow a quarter acre, while the rest will not and Tom Allman and his crew can still raid people and charge them the $50 per plant eradication fee and $500 per pound eradication fee, after they stole everything that is not nailed down
14 people arrested, yet Mr. Glass was the only one who showed up for school picture day.
the numbers just don’t add up
California Artificial Marijuana Price Support Team>
Can’t have an oversupply crisis in the market, that might impact some well-connected monopolist’s profit margins.
I for one feel so much more secure knowing that, thanks to the CAMPS Team, the price of this pernicious weed remains high enough to support the politicians and their cronies in the opulent style to which they’ve become accustomed!
Perhaps the 90 – 95 percent diversion of South Fork of the Eel River into the Russian River watershed has the major effect in on the algae blooms?
I live on the South Fork. No water is diverted for the Russian River here and we still have algae blooms.
There is more than one south fork kym,..
The one closer to the mendo line is the one adressed here
“The South Fork Eel River is the largest tributary of the Eel River in north-central California in the United States. The river flows 105 miles (169 km) north from Laytonville to Dyerville/Founders’ Grove where it joins the Eel River. The South Fork drains a long and narrow portion of the Coast Range of California in parts of Mendocino and Humboldt counties. U.S. Route 101 follows the river for much of its length.[3]” From Wikipedia.
I’ve lived here my whole life. The only South Fork of the Eel that I know of is this one. The water diverted to the Russian River is from the main stem.
Perhaps a story about the diversion at Dos Rios.
