[UPDATE 10:31 p.m.] Two to Three Acre Fire Northeast of Orleans

A fire broke out tonight on the Camp Three Road northeast of Orleans, according to scanner traffic. About 9:30 p.m a caller reported flames on either side of the road near 2123 Camp Three Road. Firefighters are responding to the area. Reportedly the blaze has already swallowed two to three acres.

UPDATE 10:31 p.m.: According to Angela McLaughlin a resident in the area, “The fire is visible from the Somes Bar area but no flame up or torching to n the trees…it looks to be creeping through the understory. Saw lots of fire trucks going up n down Camp three Rd.”

  • Camp site unattended? Be careful out there camping we have to much dry everything.we need to bring back smokey the bear!!!ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES

      Always possible, but no mention of a campfire. Perhaps the Klamath Arsonist(s) has struck again. Just as with religious terrorists, someone knows who the firebug is but keeps pretending otherwise.

    Even though Fire restrictions are on, some people think they can just ignore them and do whatever they want…

    Well crud. Thought we would be fire free this summer. Hope the fire is put out and the cause determined. May the crews be safe and wise. Appreciate the notice of the fire Kym. And thank you Angela for your timely reporting as well.
