Bank Robbery Today; EPD Asks Public’s Help

On July 20, 2016, at about 2:58 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a bank on the 2800 block of E Street in Eureka for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The bank teller told officers that the suspect stated that he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect lifted his clothing to display a handgun, which was located in the waistband of his pants.

The suspect fled out the north door of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described Robbery umpquaas a white male adult, about 5’10’, thin build, and a close cut beard. He was further described as wearing light colored pants, a gray hoodie with print on the front, black baseball camp with logo, and square framed sunglasses.

Dye bomb anyone? Haven’t heard of one being used for a long time. Would contrast nicely with his clothing.

Dye bombs can fail, and ruin the money in the cash box or vault.

Cash in insured. People aren’t.
