Just went over Long Valley at about 12:50 6/28
Thank you, Jimmie!
Cruising over Laytonville now!
You are usually able to hear it for a little while before you actually see it. Keep your ears open.
I was babysitting a 4 and 6 yr old. I heard the noise and remembered the blimp was coming. Went and check it out and I could see it coming through the trees. Girls quick! No Shoes! Quick! I was so glad I heard it coming and shared their first blimp sighting.
I love that! What a great moment to share!
Just passed Piercy!
Now at County line
Dang it… We got fog in fortuna
Just went over benbow 1:50 pm
Miranda at 2:18.
Yep, Miranda. Quite a bit of excitement with grandkids and great grandkids for the first time.
Awesome!
It always seems like a treat to see the Goodyear blimp. Old school technology is still thrilling. It brought a lump to my throat to see the old girl once again. I hope she flies forever.
It appears that the one that flew over was built in 2014. The one that they just retired was 90 years old. Can find much info on the net.
Here it is over Weott.
Nice
Now that’s funny! That pic made my day. Thanks
Just buzzed Weott!
That thing always looked like it was going to fall out of the sky . Not much changed lol
Over Rio Dell now.
Scotia!!
Dude I just saw the air traffic car for the blimp fill up at guintolli!
It was so weird……as they went over my voice got all squeaky! ;*p
Just went through Eureka
I had a quiet second and just quickly scrolled through all the sightings. Got a big stupid grin on my face.
When I saw it over Myers Flat…it took me back about 65 years to summers at Laguna Beach…we would see it pretty often cruising the coast.
It’s in mckinleyville 4:59 pm. Support vehicles headed north on 101.
Flying over my house in Dows Prairie now
It’s been circling over McKinleyville for about an hour. It’s about 5:40 as I write this.
Kym, do you know where they are headed next?…final destination? I have family in Southern Oregon, and Hillsboro…
Thank you so much…and every one else who kept posting the progress…This turned a beautiful, lovely, blue sky day, into WOW!!!

Fifty years ago when I was growing up in Los Angeles, the school district had some deal worked out with Goodyear to reward elementary school kids who excelled. I remember taking a school bus down to Long Beach and a half dozen of us got to go up in the blimp. It just puttered around the local area and couldn’t have lasted more than a half hour or so, but it was one of my most memorable things growing up. I even still have the little wallet sized card they gave us. It was really neat.
Coming in for a landing at Arcata Airport.
Here’s another shot of it landing with more background
I heard it flying over hydesville ,but couldn’t see it all fogged in

Anyone know when it takes off in the morning?
I believe 9 a.m.
“It’s the Blimp! It’s the Blimp Frank! It’s the Blimp!”
Now it’s striped! sort of.
