Bucktail River Access Will Be Limited

Press release from the Bureau of Land Management:

blmThe Bureau of Land Management and the Trinity River Restoration Program (TRRP) wish to advise visitors that the Bucktail River Access off Browns Mountain Road will be limited from July 5 to September 15. Although open on weekends, weekday access will be limited as a safety precaution during construction of a river channel rehabilitation project at this location.

Other local river access areas upstream and downstream of the Bucktail River Access site include: Steel Bridge River Access, off Steel Bridge Road; Indian Creek River Access, off Highway 299 near Douglas City; Cemetery Hole River Access, walk in only on Goose Ranch Road near Lewiston; Rush Creek River Access, on Rush Creek Road near Lewiston; and Old Bridge River Access, on Lewiston Road near Lewiston.

The rehabilitation project is funded by the TRRP and will be constructed by contractors from the Hoopa Valley and Yurok Tribes. The project will enhance the Trinity River by improving riparian and terrestrial habitat that essential for fish and wildlife.
