[UPDATE 2:09 p.m.] Vegetation Fire on Samoa Penninsula

All Arcata fire crews, Samoa Fire and Humboldt Bay Fire are all responding to the Vance Incident, a large vegetation fire on the Samoa Penninsula. The fire is reportedly between the Samoa Cookhouse and the Samoa Bridge. 50 x 50 spot is reported to be burning in the beach area. No structures are currently threatened as of 1:48 p.m.

UPDATE 2:13 p.m.:
The fire is being mopped up.

UPDATE 2:20 p.m.: According to Oliver Cory, Arcata Fire, Samoa-Peninsula and Humboldt Bay Fire were on the scene. When the first crews arrived, the fire was only 10×10. But by the time Arcata Fire got on scene the incident was 100×100. Cory says the crews look as if they are mopping up as reported on the scanner.
