We caught up with Chief Graham Hill of the Rio Dell Police Department to talk about today’s large raid in his small town. Hill told us that Joshua Nahm, age 36, and Kristine Reynolds, age 26, were both arrested for mostly drug related crimes, including maintaining a drug house, possession of methamphetamine for sale, cultivation of marijuana, possession of heroin for sales, and possession of drug paraphernalia. “Reynolds was also charged with possession of stolen of property,” he said.

Hill told us that his officers had been collecting information on this residence for some time. People who have been associated with the residence were arrested with similar drug related crimes leading officers to believe that the residence was involved in drug sales, he explained.

About 11 a.m., Hill said that officers from the Rio Dell Police Department along with the SWAT team (a multi-agency critical incident unit overseen by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department) and deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant in the 300 block of First Avenue.

The two suspects, Hill said, were taken into custody without incident. He thanked the other law enforcement involved for helping serve the warrant. “The Rio Dell Police Department is very appreciative of the assistance it received from other agencies,” he said.

This didn’t say anything about the shooting of the woman’s brother that had just robbed a house a few blocks away last night. Too bad the house owner didn’t kill him. The Rio Dell police are awesome.
