[UPDATE 4:35 p.m] Structure Fire off of Hwy 96 Near Willow Creek

Structure fire feature“Structure is possibly fully involved,” according to dispatcher’s report to fire crews.

A firefighter from one of the crews requests additional help because “of the potential…an extremely hot day here,” he says.

Dispatcher reports that another person has called in stating there is a threat to the wildland. A request has been made for a helicopter.

UPDATE 1:37 p.m.: “We have a fully involved trailer…propane tanks venting.”

UPDATE 2:09 p.m: A helicopter is on its way.

UPDATE 2:13 p.m.: The structure appears to be a total loss, according to scanner traffic. At this time, the wildland spread is minimal.

UPDATE 2:40 p.m.: The main structure is now burning, according to scanner traffic. The incident commander is requesting more personnel. Blue Lake fire is sending a crew but more are needed.

UPDATE 4:35 p.m.: The fire is now being mopped up. Some resources are being released.

I think it’s Knight’s Park…3353 Hiway 96, where the hiway starts heading into the bluffs
I hope the fire stays small and doesn’t damage other structures. Lovely area, quiet.

That is correct on the address. I hope they keep it contained. There’s a lot of homes nearby including mine. So yeah, I have a lot of worry going on here. they just now called in more fire trucks from Blue Lake on the scanner.

Prayers up for the Knight family and the tenants at the park. The temps were in the 100’s today. We hope the injured firefighter makes a swift recovery. Thank you to the emergency responders.
