UntitledLaw enforcement gathered near the Miranda Bridge before heading up French Road. They showed up about 9 a.m. They stood around until about 10 a.m. when a final vehicle showed up. It was unmarked.

One vehicle had the Humboldt County Sheriff’s insignia in it. According to a witness, everyone had street clothes on. They didn’t have vests. They had a K-9 unit.

They left about 10 a.m. headed up French Road.

UPDATE 11:17 a.m.: A witness who spoke with the officers tells us that they are there to evict people from a residence at the foot of French Road.

UPDATE 12:15 p.m.: Although there was at least one Humboldt County Sheriff’s Officer with the operation this morning, according to a witness, we have determined that this was an operation by the District Attorney’s Office. We reached District Attorney Maggie Fleming. She would only state, “It is an ongoing criminal investigation so I cannot comment on it.”
