A Dodge truck and a Nisson Xterra collided on Briceland Road about 2:30 p.m. The subsequent efforts to remove the vehicles has led to a traffic backup all the way into the Whitmore Grove.

According to a CHP spokesperson at approximately 3:30 p.m., the accident occurred at the stop sign where the road narrows to one lane. Tow trucks are on the scene and the road “should be cleared momentarily.”

  • Looks to me like the traffic accident was just west of the stop signs, right where a big redwood kind of leans out into the road. Several times I have come around that corner headed east and seen someone, usually in a big truck, using a big chunk of the opposite lane as they try to put space in between themselves and the tree. Slowing down would improve the situation but you know that everyone is always in such a hurry.

Yes. Don’t want to be late getting to that emergency beer or garden disaster. What the fuck else is west of town?

Yeah, slowing down for 40 seconds while one negotiates a tight blind curve could save your car and your life. Staying in your own lane? Can’t handle it, dude. Too much of an impediment to a tight schedule.

  • Any updates on this? Do you know if the road has been opened? Thank you!

  • Just by observation, it appeared that both vehicles landed on the opposite sides of the road, as if they swerved to avoid hitting. I can’t state that as a fact. The Xterra was driven by an older gentleman who appeared quite rattled. His vehicle looked totaled while the pick up not so much, but what do I know. The XTerra was face planted into an old tree on the wrong side of the road.

  • “TREE’S AGAIN!” “HAH!”
