Take Out Your Teacups; Alice Is Here
Feet First is finding it all curiouser and curiouser. We invite you to this family friendly show, Alice in Quantumland. Performances will be Memorial day weekend at the Redwood Playhouse in Garberville. Performances run Thursday May 26th through Saturday May 28th, with doors opening at 6:30pm, show starting at 7pm. A matinee will be on Sunday May 29th , doors opening 11:30am, show starting at Noon.
Take out your tea cups and prepare for a new twist on Lewis Carol’s beloved classic. Some of our favorite characters come to life and lead Alice, in her any forms, down the rabbit hole and into a world of endless possibilities. A world of everything and nothing; where you are both everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
The many Alices in the production get whisked into tea parties, through mirrors and around the Queens’ Garden as they discover who they are deep down. Are they consumed by their Jabberwocky fueled fear? Are they like misunderstood cards used as pawns in the Queens’ never ending chess game of war? Or maybe they are mad as a hatter lost in the Quantum Soup?
Familiar faces such as Sue Burdick, Kathy Wolman, Diane Richardson and Barbara Penny have been mentoring and encouraging new dancers. Learning the production process, creative directing, writing scripts and teaching choreography is only the beginning as new sets of feet step in to help. We are excited for the new ideas and possibilities this collaboration has brought.
