Unsafe Speeds a Factor in Yesterday’s Accident of 199, Says CHP

On Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2016, at approximately 1618 hours, [Coltun Englund] was traveling northbound on U.S. 199, in the area of Milepost Marker I 0.57. P-1 had two passengers with him. While traveling at an unsafe speed for conditions, [Englund] was unable to
maintain his vehicle within its lane of travel. [His vehicle] traveled off the highway and came to rest adjacent to the Smith River. Alcohol and/or drug usage is not considered to be a factor in this particular incident. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
