EPD Searching for Suspect in Multiple Burglaries With K-9

Eureka Police Department

As of 9:40 p.m. scanner traffic indicates that multiple Eureka Police including a K-9 officer are searching for a suspect in multiple “459’s”–(entering a structure to commit a crime.) The first report came in about 9:30 p.m. on O Street.  Then there were reports of multiple 459’s (possibly as many as four) on the 2100 block of N Street.

According to scanner traffic, Eureka Police began following the trail of the suspect southbound on N Street towards the Greenbelt. Last we heard the K-9 was following a “hot odor.”

UPDATE 10:09 p.m.: An officer said that the tracking had ended. “UTL” (Unable To Locate) the suspect.

Could have been any of the many junkies in D.P. I used to feel compassion for these people, not anymore. At all.

Come on, EPD. This is the third attempted break-in in three days within three blocks in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Eureka. Step it up and catch these guys!
