Fire Burns Structure to the Ground by Ferndale

An abandoned building caught on fire by Ferndale about 3:30 this morning. The two story wooden structure near the intersection of Fulmor Road and Goble Lane was fully engulfed when crews got on the scene. Below is a video by Richard Leonardo.

The fire destroyed the structure leaving only this smoldering hulk in the early morning fog.

How does a big old “abandoned” farm house burn down exactly ?

Sometimes if you want something off your property enough, it just spontaneously combusts.

Easy. The historical society deems the structure part of the historic landscape of Ferndale which disallows permitted demolition. Last time something like this happened, it was the FVFD that burned an old farm house for training.
