[UPDATE 1:12 a.m.] High Speed Pursuit Started in Eureka, Heading Out Hwy 299
Scanner traffic indicates in Eureka about 12:50 a.m., a high speed chase ensued northbound on Hwy 101. The fleeing vehicle reached 100 mph. It turned east onto Hwy 299.
Not far from Blue Lake the suspect vehicle blew a tire but is continuing on at 50 to 60 mph. The are about 10 miles east of 101 at 1:05 a.m.
UPDATE 1:09 a.m.: The suspects’ vehicle slowed and “rolled into an embankment,” according to officer in pursuit. Two fled.
UPDATE 1:10 a.m.: The male driver has been detained but the female passenger is in the brush.
UPDATE 1:12 a.m.: The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has set up traffic control near the scene at mile marker 13.06.
UPDATE 1:14 a.m.: The officers have requested a K-9.
UPDATE 7:23 a.m.: The female was detained about 1:30 a.m.

At 01:28 a Sheriff’s Deputy raported to his dispatch that “CHP has the female in custody.”
At 01:43 a CHP unit reported enroute to the jail, and a want check on his arrestee comes back that she also has a confirmed felony warrant from Siskiyou County for failure to appear on an Auto Theft charge.
Alota hoodoos along that stretch of road lately…Ill bet bet they were just some good citizens tryin to out run one after they run it over.Late at night, roll your windows open along that stretch, and you can hear em callin.
