Vegetation Fire Caused by Down Power Lines Spreading West of Rio Dell
A quarter acre fire on Dinsmore Ranch Road west of of Rio Dell is spreading as of 7 p.m. The fire was apparently caused by downed power lines. Flames are “laddering” up a tall redwood tree. Fire crews are on the scene but the flames are still burning through vegetation.
A residence is about 100 feet uphill from the fire.
The incident commander has requested a hand crew from Cal Fire. Flames are moving slowly at this time.
UPDATE 7:44 p.m.: Fire has been contained, reported the incident commander over the scanner. A High Rock inmate crew is still on the way to the area to help with mop up.
