Cold and Wet Starting Tonight, Warns Weatherman

With this sunshine, it’s hard to imagine winter running its chilly fingers over California. However, the National Weather Service out of Eureka is advising that starting tonight until about 9 p.m. tomorrow, we’re going to be wetter and colder in the northwest corner of our state.

Expect heavy rains in coastal areas with possible thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Snow could actually accumulate as low as 3500 feet and in places reach 8 inches in the highest mountain areas. Expect Hwy 36 at South Fork Mountain and Hwy 3 at Scott Mountain to be impacted.

Check this map out for more on your specific areas.

Don’t worry though. By this weekend, expect sunny and warm weather.
