Toni Hight: Truly an Original

This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you.

CaptureOn December 23, 2015 the world lost a shining star. Toni Hight was born on January 6, 1952 in Long Beach California. Toni was an adventurous, free spirit who loved to travel. Mexico and Bali were some of her favorite places to visit.

Toni welcomed her son Jason into her life, on February 7, 1971. When Jason was young, they moved to the McKenzie River in Oregon. Toni loved it there and had so many stories about this chapter in her life. Luckily, for so many, the wind blew Toni to Southern Humboldt in the early eighties where she touched countless hearts and made many friends.

Toni was funny, witty, and creative-truly in a league of her own. Toni questioned ideas and beliefs, thought outside the box, and inspired those in her life to do the same. 13010824_10208264044337596_6906892738784086399_nToni was a supportive and loving friend who helped to connect many people and even in her spirit continues to do so today.
In her later life, Toni lived part time in La Manzanilla, Mexico, where she shared time and made memories with beloved friends and family. Toni was preceded in passing by her son, Jason. It comforts us to know that they are together again. We will miss her laughter and hold her memory forever in our hearts. Never will we forget her funny, kind, and beautiful spirit. She was truly an original.

Please join us for a celebration of Toni’s life on Saturday April 16th at 2 pm at Beginnings in Briceland. It will be a potluck, please bring photos or stories to share. Costumes are encouraged or come as you are.
