Critically Wounded Victim Sent to Hospital With Gunshot Wound, Eureka Man Arrested

5c7ad5e3-4ffa-4245-96bd-d350e9cfd93aOne man is critically wounded and another in jail following a shooting on Humboldt Hill at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Aspen Way.

According to the scanner, a female reported to 911 that a male had been shot in the upstairs of the house by another male subject. The female said she was in a bedroom downstairs with an infant at the time and that the suspect was with the victim. Multiple Humboldt County Sheriff and California Highway Patrol units headed to the address.

When we arrived on the scene, Law enforcement was still giving commands for the suspect to come out of the house. He did not comply immediately. dd77b4e1-61fb-4e64-96a2-ecd19cb46520

However, eventually, the suspect, 34-year-old Brian Swan, came out of the house and was taken into custody.

According to scanner traffic the suspect victim had been shot to the middle of the body and had lost a lot of blood. The victim was taken to the hospital. We don’t yet know what happened with the infant.

The suspect was taken to the Humboldt County Jail and booked for attempted homicide. Capture
