Press release from Eureka Police Department:

EPD Eureka Police Department BlurOn April 2nd at approximately 1:27 p.m., Officers from the Eureka Police Department responded to the area of Spring and Vance Street on a report of a suspicious male subject rolling around on the ground. Upon arrival officers contacted the male who was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The male subject who was alert and responsive to the officer’s questions, told them he had ingested a substantial amount of methamphetamine. The subject’s name will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with any information or may have witnessed the event is asked to contact the Eureka Police Department, Senior Detective Ron Harpham, at 441-4305.

Sometimes people lose their way in life. Addiction is a terrible thing, mixed with mental illness is a recipe for eventual death.
This was someones son, he was my cousin and I love him even now. Let’s look ways to help not throw away.

Sad treatment works better than incarceration. My friend did 7 years in federal prison for a meth conspiracy and in that time the street price went from 1200$ an oz to 250$. Treatment ankle bracelets that detect use anything other than putting them in a prison where they don’t work and sit around all day with other criminals it is a surefire recipe for going back to drugs. Make them work that’s training for life outside.
