Natural Cause of Death Likely, Says Deputy Coroner in Body Dumping Case

HCSO Humboldt County Sheriff's Office BlurAround midnight on March 28, the body of 55-year-old Christopher Duke from the Garberville/Redway area was left at the foot of an emergency ramp of the Jerold Phelps Hospital. Deputy Coroner Trevor Enright completed the autopsy on Wednesday and found that Duke likely died of natural causes but he is waiting for the results of the toxicology tests before making his final report.

Enright wrote, “Pathological findings at autopsy…revealed significant medical conditions consistent with a natural cause of death however cause of death is being deferred for toxicology findings. At this time, no indication of foul play has been discovered during Coroner investigation.”

According to Selena Zorrilla-Mendoza there have been no further developments in finding the parties responsible for dumping Mr. Duke’s body.

I’m confused…the news channel 3 posting says according to HCSO there IS evidence of foul play in the body found in Garberville (Christopher Duke). Can you clarify which is correct?

Looks like the KIEM link to the old story has been disabled on loco, and the story on the KIEM Web page changed the article to say cause of death still unknown. Thanks for following up.

Kym, I came right to your site to check after I saw the KIEM link. Thanks for the follow up. Maybe someone gave KIEM incorrect information?
