Really sad. So young! I hope the passengers will be ok. It’s possible that the roads were wet.

My son was driving in the rain a few months ago, swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control and hit a tree. He was so lucky to escape with only minor injuries and I feel so grateful to still have him alive and in my life. My heart goes out to his or her family. I can’t imagine the pain they must be going through.

I used to own a 2000 mustang ,the one thing I didn’t like about it was that it’s hydroplaned horribly in the rear end , so with that being said ,so tragic condolences to the family of the one lost in this accident. And I hope that that other two people recover fully R.I.P

Thx for the good reminder to put some weight in the back of your truck, I used to keep two smaller cinder blocks on cardboard in the bed of my truck

Joggerjohn,
Wow, guess you cannot fathom that the campus police work with other agencies when a student is killed.
I guess you do not personally know a police officer, CHP officer or sheriff deputy.
The one’s I know work very hard at their job which is more than busting folks.
Notification of next kin, being on the scene and assisting injured, processing a MVA, and they are not “popes”.
Whatever “popes” is.
In regards to the two survivors may they heal up quickly and have a huge network of support in the aftermath of such a horrific accident.
May the family of the deceased be given all the care and help they need in the aftermath of losing their loved one.

Number 1 cause of death for people of this age (most ages actully). If we lowered all speed limits to 55, it would save many lives.

How about if we just DID the speed limit rather than 80, 90 or over 100mph. Speed lessens the reaction time and if the road is wet, you are going to hydroplane and lose control. So if you need to take evasive action and you are flying well over the limit, you might not be able to. What’s the rush?

Dear Anna, the tree that you mentioned may have been the reason why Mr. Romeri lost control of his vehicle.
