Occupant Extricated From Vehicle Crash on Hwy 36

A vehicle crashed into a tree on Hwy 36 about a half mile west of Fisher Lane between Carlotta and Hydesville. The call came into emergency dispatch about 5:13 p.m.

One victim is unresponsive. The patient had to be extricated.

The westbound lane is blocked. Please be careful traveling in the area.

UPDATE 6:47 p.m.: Although the patient was first listed as unresponsive, a witness report indicates that the man was Hispanic and did not respond because he didn’t speak English.

The road is clear.

It’s those damned Jumping Redwoods, they’re sneaky, you have to watch out for them especially at night & if you’re by yourself!!! Definitely, if you happen to be impaired for whatever reason!!!

When we drove by the scene there was a jug of whisky sitting on the ground in plain view. With law enforcement walking around it.

Kymkemp.com is there any follow up to this story, as in reason for crash or did the passenger survive?
