[UPDATE 7:19 a.m.] SNOW! Chains Required on Hwy 36

Is it getting chilly at your house? The mountain areas saw the temperature drop past freezing. Snow is sticking in the higher areas of the Emerald Counties. We’ve seen one report of snow down to 2500′ and multiple reports of it down to 3500′.

Traveling out Hwy 36? Caltrans reports that chains or 4-wheel-drive with snow tires is required for all vehicles “from Mad River to 5 miles west of Forest Glen in TrinityCounty/ South Fork Mountain.”
