[UPDATE] Former HSU Student Arrested for Sexual Assault

HumboldtFormer Humboldt State University student Robert Ikpomwonsa Daudu was arrested for a sexual assault that occurred in December 2015 in an east campus parking lot. University Police officers arrested Daudu on Saturday, Feb. 13. Daudu was booked in the Humboldt County Jail.

Daudu was enrolled in classes through fall 2015 but was not registered as an active student for the spring 2016 semester. Daudu, 26, is originally from Claremont, Calif.

The University takes situations like this very seriously and has a number of resources for survivors of sexual assault available 24-hours a day. Survivors are encouraged to contact either the North Coast Rape Crisis Team at (707) 445-2881 or HSU’s Counseling & Psychological Services at (707) 826-3236. University Police can be contacted from any campus phone by dialing extension 5555.

UPDATE September 1: No charges are being filed by the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office in this case. According to an email received by the Mad River Union, “We reviewed the case and did not file charges,” stated DA Maggie Fleming in an email. “We cannot ethically bring charges unless we believe there is sufficient admissible evidence that would prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.”

awww what a waste of his life and so sorry for her…going to take time to heal….maybe for both of them 🙁 sad story
