You generally don’t need to warm up a car. Just turn the darn thing on and take it easy the first mile or so.

All warming up does for a car is waste gas (and get’s your ride stolen).

Not to mention the fumes. I don’t understand people sitting chatting on their phones, or arranging their looks, or… anything… with the engine running while spewing cancerous pollutants into the air.

Not to get down on this woman, who may have… well, i don’t know. Maybe the Volvo is having problems and needs a bit of TLC in the form of warm-up or it will stall.

Or maybe they wanted a warm atmosphere for their children. Whatever the reason it still shouldn’t have been stolen. I will definitely keep a lookout for any white Volvo wagons I see in my travels.

I do the same thing. Breathing in cool, moist air isn’t good for a child.

Can’t help myself…
They stole my mom’s car???
I think it was 30 years ago that I shopped for a Volvo for my new wife and her kids.
Leaving the car running with the keys in it might not be the best idea. Sorry for your loss.
Hope you get her back in one piece.

Found? or Recovered? These are two totally different outcomes. Why so vague, might be an interesting story here?

Okay, thank you very much Oliver. I thought that maybe Mom forgot to set the parking brake or something of that nature.

Keep a spare key and lock the car doors while you warm it up.
