High Surf and Coastal Flooding Advisory Issued,
The National Weather Service just issued a Coastal Flood Warning. It is in effect until 11 a.m.
Already Crescent City is having problems. The California Highway Patrol Incident page is sharing a report that Hwy 101 along south beach has “driftwood and debris on the roadway.” They also report “the ocean is swelling into roadway.”
According to the National Weather Service, ”
High astronomical tides combined with increasing south winds and surf will cause minor flooding in low lying areas along the redwood coast….Low lying areas will experience minor flooding including…but not limited to roadways in King Salmon and the Arcata Bottoms.
Here’s a map of South Beach.

Some of the gnarliest rain that I’ve seen in quite some time in crescent city.
That’s saying something! Are you talking about earlier today or this evening?
